My family loves to go to the Olive Garden and I enjoy Mediterranean food as much as anyone. The Mediterranean diet is made up of eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, nuts and legumes. Nuts are a big part of this diet. Fruits, like grapes and oranges, are a major component. Vegetables, like spinach and broccoli, round out the diet.

First, I would have to ask my husband what he thought we might be missing out on by not getting Greek food. He said it was the carbs! For the main meal, you can get a platter or even a soup, which comes with a nice mix of ingredients including olive oil, cheese and fresh vegetables. The soup is one of the best things about La Dolce Vita, but the salad bars are where you will really see the Greek flair.
If you love Greek food, then you are going to love The Lanes. This place serves authentic Greek fare on its numerous rotating tables, so that each person can get their own turn at cooking the meal. The best thing about this restaurant is that it is open all day, so you don’t have to limit yourself to lunch because of work or school. You can eat any time of day and enjoy great food, if you are willing to explore a little.
Don’t limit yourself to just a couple of places when trying to plan a healthy Mediterranean diet for your family. You will find that there are many other great options out there as well that will allow you to eat healthier and enjoy more foods than you ever thought possible.
