Understanding Google’s SEO Guidelines For Websites

Google’s latest service, Google Serp, has been around for quite some time. In fact, the service was introduced back in April of 2002. While it has been a long time coming, there have been some major changes in Google’s SERPs, especially when it comes to SEO. Here is what Google has announced about their new SERP product.

Now, to make sense out of data, Google pulls data from various external resources including Wikipedia, Google Maps, and other internal sources. Of course, Google can always change whatever at any time, so it’s also important that internet marketers keep their eyes wide open and on the ball while they happen. If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll realize that the last few years have been very interesting. Google dropped the “Google Local” tag and began using its own brand of local listings. This has been a huge deal because previously, if a searcher wanted to find something local, he or she had no choice but to search Google for the answer. Now, he or she can simply enter a local business name into Google, choose a city, state, or county, and get a list of local businesses (with Google maps as the central source for this info).

One of the first things to notice about the recent updates is that Google is taking its place as the number one search engine. The new updates make it easier than ever for a user to find what he or she is looking for. With the Google Index Downloads tool, all of the user’s web pages are pulled into one easy-to-navigate interface, giving searchers the option to jump from one page to another as they browse around. If the searcher wants to look up a particular webpage, all he has to do is click on the “Get Google Index Downloads” button at the top of the home page. This will take him to a page with all of Google’s current index links, saving him a great deal of time as he goes from one search engine page to another.

Another important addition to the Google SERP is the Google Inverted Tree Structure. This feature is similar to the Google inverted index download, in that it will take searchers to the right page when they want to see more of what’s available to them. However, instead of going directly to a Google Index page, a searcher will be taken back to the root level of the directory by clicking on the inverted tree link.

A typical Google SERP will contain many different listings for a single page. This is why it’s so important to understand the way in which Google works with their SERPs. A typical listing might contain a link to a page containing a single ad unit. If this page hasn’t been highly-liked or ranked, it will not show up on the first page of results; hence, the listing. A high-quality website that receives a good amount of traffic will be one that have many links pointing to it from other popular and trustworthy sites, and google serp data works this way with their SERPs as well.

Keywords play an essential role in a site’s relevancy. The higher a site’s keyword density, the more valuable it will become to any search engine. As such, Google has made it very clear how important this is in their policies about quality search engine optimization and has even gone as far as to implement their Page Rank guidelines and algorithms with regards to keyword density. When these rules are followed, a webmaster can be rest assured that their site will be more likely to receive traffic and will rank much higher on a Google SERP than it would without using the proper tools to analyze and optimize its keywords.
